Biography

Founded 2004 in Stockholm, by Astrid Olsson and Lee Cotter, V AVE SHOE REPAIR has grown into an international brand represented in 20 countries worldwide with 4 stand alone stores.

By 2006, V AVE S.R. was awarded ”New coming designer of the year” by Men’s magazine Café for the first men’s line launched in Autumn 2006. At the same time, the first store opened its doors in Södermalm, Stockholm. An intimate setting with the design studio and atelier situated in the next room of the 18 sqm store.

2007, the duo was awarded ”Designer of the Year” by Swedish fashion organization Habit and in 2009 honoured ”Designer of the Year” by Swedish ELLE.

The online shop was launched to a worldwide market and in 2010 we opened our first international stand alone store in Singapore.

The silhouette consists of a mix of ready-to-wear and unique pieces, handmade in the atelier,
under supervision of Astrid Olsson. The atelier creates the heart of the V AVE S.R. process - a process inspired by moments and objects from an undefined past, brought to life in our Stockholm atelier, situated in
an old brewery building dating back to the 1840s.

Draping on the mannequin, the traditional way, will always constitute the most important element of who we are,
together with the love of fabrics, attention to detail and deep respect for our great heritage.
